Opera North believes the arts can play a vital role in the lives of young people and their families.
Opera North Education has been exploring new ways of engaging local communities in creative work that inspires and reinvigorates both those communities and Opera North.
Sing Up! Bridlington
New to Opera North for Autumn 2009 will be a two-year residency programme based in the coastal town of Bridlington. The project is funded by Sing Up and will work across the whole community helping the people of Bridlington to find their voice.
Little Movers
A weekly programme of movement and music workshops in a suburb of Leeds for parents, carers and their children aged 0-4 years. Working in partnership with Yorkshire Dance.
Little London Primary School
A residency in an inner city community school since 2005, providing unique learning experiences for the teachers, pupils and partners.
Play ON
The Orchestra of Opera North in residence at a different Yorkshire school each year working with composer, Richard Taylor.
Echo Archive
A digital musical instrument created by the residents of Little London, Leeds, that represents the sounds of the community.
