Opera North Children's Chorus

The Opera North Children’s Chorus is designed to enable boys and girls aged 7-13 to develop strong skills in musicianship, learn to read music, develop their singing voices, learn stagecraft and perform alongside professionals.

The chorus meets once a week during term time to learn and rehearse under the expert guidance of their dedicated Musical Director. They sing music from a wide variety of genres and perform concerts both locally and nationally.

All children involved in the Children’s Chorus will receive the appropriate training to provide them with a high standard of musical ability to allow them to audition for Opera North’s professional stage productions.

Children from all walks of life are welcome to audition and no previous experience is required. All we ask is that the children enjoy singing and are keen to embrace a new challenge whilst having fun and making new friends.
