“One of the world’s finest lyric mezzo-sopranos”
Neil Fisher, The Times

Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager explores the beauty of the early Romantic period in a programme featuring songs by Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn and Carl Loewe. As one of the most sought after and highly regarded artists of her generation, Kirchschlager is recognised as a leading interpreter of Strauss and Mozart. Her forthcoming opera engagements include Handel at The Met, New York and Octavian and Clairon at the Vienna State Opera.

Kirchschlager is accompanied by Simon Lepper, described by Opera magazine as “one of the most gifted and enterprising accompanists of his generation”.  Simon plays with some of the world’s leading recitalists, including Mark Padmore last season in the Howard Assembly Room.
