Performance Details

“A pianist justly hailed as the finest of his generation.” The Independent

“If proof were needed of the vitality and relevance of jazz, then Mehldau is it.” The Guardian

A rare opportunity to see America’s inventive jazz pianist, Brad Mehldau, performing solo outside London, hot on the heels of his Wigmore Hall solo concert the night before.

Mehldau cherishes the surprise and wonder that can arise from a spontaneous musical idea, but he also has a deep fascination for the formal architecture of music. In his most inspired playing he listens to how ideas unwind.

Mehldau is a jazz pianist but has also collaborated widely most memorably with soprano Renée Fleming on The Blue Estuaries in 2005.
