2012/13 Season Announced
General Director, Richard Mantle announces Opera North's season from August 2012 – March 2013, which features seven operas presented in no fewer than six new productions.
Lesley Garrett returns to opera
We are delighted to announce the return of one of the UK's best loved artists, Lesley Garrett, to Opera North. Lesley will sing the role of Elle in a new production of Poulenc's La Voix Humaine in February 2013.
Opera North named as regional partner for The Full English project

Die Walküre: Cast change announcement
Opera North welcomes American tenor Erik Nelson Werner to sing the role of Siegmund in its new concert staging of Die Walküre, which opens at Leeds Town Hall on 16 June 2012, replacing Jeffrey Lloyd Roberts who has withdrawn from the role.
New funding for Verve project for young people with Asperger's Syndrome
A generous donation from Jimbo's Fund, a fund set up by the late Leeds businessman and philanthropist Jimi Heselden, has enabled creative young people aged 10-15 with Asperger’s Syndrome to access a series of tailored workshops run by Opera North.
