Stage Technician

Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to fill the role of Stage Technician to join our highly-talented team of technical and production staff. The purpose of the job will be to help build sets for Opera North productions, and carry out scene changes during rehearsals and performances, both in the studios and on tour. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively as part of the team, making sure that all activities are carried out to the highest standards of safety, efficiency and quality.

Essential requirements for the job include a proven track record of technical work for other theatre companies, experience of knotting and rigging, team work and a positive attitude towards health and safety.

Salary: £27,528 per annum (subject to overtime)

EYFS-KS1 Tutor (Maternity Cover)

Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to fill the role of In Harmony EYFS-KS1 Tutor.

The In Harmony tutors within the Learning & Engagement team deliver a year-round programme of high quality and engaging group music tuition at the In Harmony Opera North partner schools.

The successful candidate will have classical music training and a demonstrable high level of musical skill and literacy. You will have experience of working in a professional capacity delivering engaging musicianship sessions for Early Years and Key Stage and a strong understanding of Kodály musical pedagogy. Fly's Technician

Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to fill the role of Fly’s Technician.

The successful candidate will have extensive counterweight fly’s and rigging experience. Experience of automated flying systems would be an advantage, but training will be provided.

You will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise under pressure. You will primarily be involved in the flying, rigging and building of scenery, and the flying of lighting, sound, and AV equipment for productions in rehearsal studios, mainstages, and on tour. Between theatre seasons you will undertake the maintenance of flying and rigging equipment and any other duties as required.

Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety at work is essential.

Salary: £29,131.56 per annum (overtime is applicable to this post)

Assistant General Manager

Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to fill the role of Assistant General Manager.

The successful candidate will support the General Manager to ensure the smooth, courteous, and efficient running of the hospitality operation at Opera North. You will be responsible for ensuring service standards are continually maintained, staff are effectively managed, and targets are met.

You will be a determined, self-motivated person willing to lead by example, well organised and consistently looking for improvements and efficiencies. You will lead from the front on the restaurant being a values-driven and healthy working environment. You will also work to agreed performance targets.

An ability to interact well with external parties is essential as this role is likely to entail a significant amount of coordination with other Opera North staff and management, event clients and suppliers. Experience in working across various hospitality disciplines (events, bar, café, restaurant) is essential.

Salary: £26,000 per annum
