KISS ME KATE! I have been privileged in the past few weeks to see some great plays and fantastic comedic experiences but this weekend has actually managed to top them all. Opera North's production of Kiss Me Kate. I am old enough to remember the 1950's film of this with Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson. Music amazing, choreography and singing outstanding, very funny and involving the audience (packed by the way). It was such an uplifting experience on a warm Leeds Saturday night that on a hot Leeds day today I searched the internet and found the original film version which we have just watched this evening. The film was wonderful but you know - the Opera North version was actually better. If you can still get tickets - go!
