As part of Heritage Open Days, Leeds Grand Theatre opens its doors to give the public an 'access all areas' insight into a working theatre on Sunday 11 September.
The day will include a variety of activities from resident company Opera North, including two Ruddigore singing workshops for all abilities led by Opera North Chorus members. A director's workshop led by the Ruddigore director and cast gives members of the public the chance to make their own suggestions for the direction of a scene. Pop-up performances from Opera North's new production of Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades will also take place at 2pm & 3pm.
There will be a chance to get up close and personal with the Madama Butterfly set on the stage before going backstage to see a display of costumes worn in the production. Tell us about your favourite performances and best memories at the Leeds Grand Theatre in our digital room and have your views posted on the Opera North website.
Don't forget to grab an envelope during the day too for your chance to win free tickets to see this Autumn's fun and witty burlesque melodrama, Ruddigore. Other activities include games and competitions; rides in the lorry lift and workshops and activities from Northern Ballet and open auditions with LAOS.
