Opera North announces 2014/15 Season

Opera North is delighted to announce its 2014/15 Season, which brings a broad range of no less than nine productions to the stage, of which six are brand new.  Including masterpieces from each of the last four centuries, these productions are brought to the stage by some of today's leading creative artists and strong British and international casts, in a careful balance of drama and comedy throughout the year.

La traviata Verdi 
New production sung in Italian with English titles.
Conductors Gianluca Marciano (Sep – Nov) and Oliver Von Dohanyi (Jan – Mar). Director Alessandro Talevi.

The Coronation of Poppea Monteverdi
New production sung in English.
Conductor Laurence Cummings. Director Tim Albery.

The Bartered Bride Smetana
Revival production sung in English with English titles.
Conductors Anthony Kraus and James Holmes. Director Daniel Slater.

The Marriage of Figaro Mozart
New production sung in English.
Conductors Alexander Shelley and Anthony Kraus . Director Jo Davies.

La vida breve De Falla
Revival production sung in Spanish with English titles.
Conductors Jac van Steen and Martin Pickard. Director Christopher Alden.

Gianni Schicchi Puccini
New production sung in Italian with English titles.
Conductors Jac van Steen and Martin Pickard. Director Christopher Alden.

Carousel Rodgers and Hammerstein
Revival production sung in English.
Conductor James Holmes. Director Jo Davies.

The Flying Dutchman Wagner
Sung in German with English titles.
Conductor Richard Farnes. Director Peter Mumford.

Swanhunter Dove and Middleton
New Production Sung in English
Conductor Catriona Beveridge. Director Hannah Mulder.

General ticket booking for these productions will open in July.
