Opera North's Summer selection away from the stage

Whilst absent from the stage over Summer there are many opportunities to see Opera North across Yorkshire. Chamber concerts amongst sculptures, Beethoven in Ryedale, transforming ballrooms into beaches in Bridlington and performing at Opera in the Park are just some of the highlights.

 

Four Seasons: Summer at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Friday 15 July

Opera North and Yorkshire Sculpture Park's Four Seasons partnership sees the second concert, Summer take place on Friday 15 July, led by highly acclaimed cellist Matthew Sharp and guitarist Craig Ogden. Mixing classical and contemporary music with words and readings reflecting the season of Summer, in addition to a number of surprises this event should not be missed.

The Spa, Bridlington

400 Bridlington residents aged 1 – 82 and four Opera North singers will take to the stage at The Spa, Bridlington to transform the Royal Hall from a ballroom into a beach for the finale of Sing Up! Bridlington, Opera North's two year residency in the seaside town.

Orchestra of Opera North at the Ryedale Festival
Thursday 21 July

The Orchestra of Opera North will perform an exciting programme of Beethoven's works including, Egmont: Overture, Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 7 in A at the Ryedale Festival on Thursday 21 July.

Temple Newsam Park, Leeds

The Orchestra of Opera North will again play at Opera in the Park, this year presented by Aled Jones with performances from Opera North regular singers, Orla Boylan, Heather Shipp, Gwyn Hughes Jones and David Kempster.
