Opera North to perform at Opera in the Park, Temple Newsam

The Orchestra of Opera North will be performing with guest soloists and the Leeds Festival Chorus at this year's Opera in the Park on Saturday 30 July.

The annual outdoor concert will take place at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds, with appearances from:  

Aled Jones                   presenter
Martin André                conductor
 
Orla Boylan                  soprano
Heather Shipp              mezzo soprano
Gwyn Hughes Jones     tenor
David Kempster            baritone
 
Experience a magical evening of outdoor opera featuring TV and singing star Aled Jones together with renowned soloists Orla Boylan, Heather Shipp, Gwyn Hughes Jones & David Kempster with music provided by the Orchestra of Opera North, Leeds Festival Chorus and a firework finale! The evening will include pieces from Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Verdi's La Traviata along with music from Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Handel and Glinka. More modern pieces from musicals include Somewhere from Leonard Bernstein’s classic West Side Story, I could have danced all night from My Fair Lady by Lerner and Loewe and Losing my mind from Follies by Stephen Sondheim.
