We're thrilled to announce that the Orchestra of Opera North will return to the heart of Leeds next year for another unforgettable night of dance anthems in collaboration with the city's most iconic club. The Symphonic Sounds Back to Basics comes back to Millennium Square on Friday 27 July 2018, with tickets on sale at 10am on Wednesday 22 November.
This summer's event brought a crowd of thousands to Millennium Square to celebrate the coming together of two very different Leeds musical institutions, joined by special guests including Corinne Bailey Rae and members of Basement Jaxx, Republica and Groove Armada, with DJ and Back to Basics founder Dave Beer at the centre of it all.
All agreed that it was a night to remember, with DJ Mag nominating the Orchestra of Opera North and guests in the Best Instrumental category in its Best of British Awards. We're gearing up for an even bigger sequel next summer, with our 50-piece orchestra joined by another stellar line-up of special guest artists and vocalists.
The Symphonic Sounds of Back to Basics will raise the curtain on another long weekend of Opera North in the City, with a Saturday concert of show-stopping arias and orchestral blockbusters, and a classic film screened with live orchestral soundtrack on Sunday 29 July. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates and announcements of special guest artists – and join us in Millennium Square for the soundtrack to your summer!
