Opera North Children’s Chorus in Newcastle will be helping to put everyone in a festive mood on Tuesday 13 December with a special seasonal performance, Hear the Angels Sing: A Christmas Musical Celebration, in the city centre's Brunswick Methodist Church.
This Winter, Opera North celebrates the timeless appeal of classic fairy tales with three brand new productions on theatre stages across the North: Rimsky-Korsakov’s rarely-performed The Snow Maiden, Humperdinck’s much-loved Hansel and Gretel and Rossini’s captivating Cinderella.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Hungarian baritone Béla Perencz has withdrawn from three scheduled performances as Wotan in Die Walküre in Nottingham (7 June), Salford (14 June) and London (29 June). The role will now by sung by Robert Hayward.
