‹ Back to What's On Tubular Brass Plays Tubular Bells

24 Sep 2016

One of the most iconic albums of all time, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells is performed live by Tubular Brass, a specially formed 28-piece brass band made up of some of the UK’s leading players.

Released in 1973, Tubular Bells famously stayed in the UK charts for 273 weeks, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. This re-imagining of the pioneering sonic masterpiece for brass band is an experience not to be missed.

In the first half of the concert the ensemble presents Mary Casio, a new commission for brass band and analogue synthesisers by Hannah Peel, electronic composer, John Foxx collaborator and member of The Magnetic North, who grewup playing in colliery brass bands.
