No stranger to Leeds Lieder audiences, Ashley Riches makes a welcome return to the Festival straight from a season at Glyndebourne.
A graduate of the prestigious Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artist programme, and alumnus of the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist scheme, Ashley graces the world’s most renowned stages garnering plaudits at every turn. His most recent recital CD with Joseph Middleton reached the shortlist for a BBC Music Magazine Award and they regularly perform together at Wigmore Hall, LSO St Luke’s and on Radio 3. Other recordings include the BBC Music Magazine 2020 Recording of the Year, Purcell’s King Arthur with Gabrieli, and Wonderful Town with the LSO and Sir Simon Rattle. Ashley’s affinity with storytelling and dedication to mining the depths of the song repertoire mark this recital as a highlight of the Leeds Lieder Festival.
