The Many Faces of Women in Opera

Monday 8 March, 7pm

This event has passed.

This International Women’s Day, join us and explore the many fascinating, strong and courageous women in opera.

Elizabeth I, Carmen, Tosca… Whether a monarch facing her own mortality, a fiery heroine driven by an uncompromising desire for personal liberty, or an opera star ensnared in a tightening web of tragic events, some of the most notable narratives in the opera world have centred on the trials and tribulations of women.

Join our panel of renowned guest artists as we delve into some of Opera North’s most striking female characters, and the careers of the talented women who bring them to life on stage.

This is an online event, and instructions on how to join will be sent to bookers by email the day before the event.
