This Valentine’s weekend, wrap up warm and be transported to a crisp, winter evening in Paris with this animated re-imagining of Act III of Puccini’s best-loved opera La bohème, projected onto the wall of Leeds Playhouse.
Once madly in love, Rodolfo and Mimì have fallen on hard times – Mimì’s illness is getting worse and Rodolfo is driven to jealousy and rage. Can their love survive the harsh winter?
Matthew Robins’ unique animated retelling of Act III of La bohème captures the emotion and humour of Puccini’s classic opera. Featuring a soundtrack recorded by the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North and four soloists, this 20 minute animation will delight both lovers of La bohème and opera newcomers in equal measure and is the perfect companion to any romantic night out.
Suitable for adults and children alike, your ticket includes a pair of headphones supplied by Opera North to allow you to be fully immersed in this magical outdoor experience.

The event will take place outside Leeds Playhouse in the area at the foot of the steps in the garden area adjacent to the Playhouse cafe entrance. The gardens are a mix of hard standing and grass. Please look out for the Opera North events team who will be there to assist you. View on map »
