Under 30s — Terms & conditions

  1. U30 membership is open to anyone aged 19-29 years or full-time students aged 18 and above. Once you are 30 or your full-time course has ended, your membership is expired.
  2. The membership card and any discounted tickets as part of this scheme are solely for the use of the registered user.
  3. By registering for the scheme you agree that you are aged 19-29 years or a full time student, and that any ticket discounted as part of the scheme is for your sole use and one other person who is also eligible for the scheme, or for free tickets: plus one guest where applicable. Other tickets booked will be charged at the applicable rate.
  4. The membership card remains the property of Opera North and must be returned in the event of your membership being cancelled.
  5. Free or discounted tickets as part of the scheme are limited in number and subject to availability – book early to avoid disappointment.
  6. Free tickets available as part of the scheme are limited to two tickets per performance, unless otherwise stated, one of which must be used by the person registered as a U30 member.
  7. Not all Opera North performances or Howard Assembly Room events are eligible for the scheme. Details, including any seating restrictions, will be communicated to you by email or on the U30 event page. Opera North can accept no responsibility for emails lost, delayed or undelivered.
  8. Discounted tickets to be paid for as part of the Leeds scheme can be booked online at, at the Opera North Box Office in person or by telephone on 0113 223 3600. Discounted tickets to be paid for as part of the Nottingham scheme can be booked online at, at the TRCH Box Office or on 0115 989 5555. A £1 transaction fee applies to online purchase, and a £2 administration fee to all other methods. Booking instructions will be provided when free tickets are offered. Free tickets for Kirklees Concert Season (Huddersfield & Dewsbury Town Hall) can only be booked through Kirklees Town Halls Box Office on 01484 223200.
  9. Acceptable ID must be presented by each person allocated tickets booked as part of the scheme, except for guests where stated, along with any credit/debit card used for paid elements of the booking. If no ID is presented, admission can be refused. Tickets are not transferable.
  10. Opera North, Leeds Grand Theatre and Nottingham Theatre Royal reserve the right to ask for proof of age at the point of ticket collection. If proof of eligibility cannot be produced or verified, any offer tickets will be cancelled along with your membership and all associated benefits. In this event, the membership card provided to you must be returned.
  11. Offer tickets are limited and therefore subject to availability. Offers cannot be used retrospectively and may be withdrawn at any time. Opera North reserves the right to change prices.
  12. By registering for the scheme you are agreeing to being contacted by email by Opera North for marketing purposes. All U30 members must agree to being contacted by e-mail for U30 offers and promotions. You can opt out of receiving emails by selecting ‘Unsubscribe instantly’ at the bottom right of the email communications, but this will mean that your membership of U30 will be cancelled.
  13. All data given will be used in accordance with the 1998 Data Protection Act.
  14. Free tickets obtained as part of the scheme cannot be exchanged and our standard terms and conditions in relation to exchanges do not apply to such tickets.
  15. No equivalent monetary value is available for free tickets issued as a benefit of registering for U30 membership.
  16. Standard terms and conditions of sale also apply to all bookings.
