In a remote country house, the newly-appointed governess arrives to take charge of the orphaned Flora and Miles. She must fight to protect them from strange and menacing spirits. But are these apparitions real? What terrible evil occurred before her arrival?

Opening

In a remote country house, a new governess arrives to take charge of two orphans, Flora and Miles. But strange and menacing spirits seem to be preying on the children. Are the ghosts real? What terrible evil occurred before her arrival?
Dawn

“I have not forgotten your charge of silence”

After a sleepless night, the Governess awakes at dawn and writes to the children’s uncle, explaining that something seems awry.
Day

“It is a wicked lie”

Miles has been expelled from school. The Governess worries he is bad, but is reassured by the housekeeper Mrs. Grose as she watches Miles and Flora play together.
Dusk

“Malo”

At dusk by the lake, Miles sings an eerie song that he learnt in his Latin lesson earlier in the day.
Night

“I’m here, O I’m here!”

Late at night, the ghosts of Peter Quint and Miss Jessel call out to Miles and Flora, drawing them nearer and nearer…
