Who can join?
Encore is a scheme for community groups and organisations that work with individuals who experience barriers that prevent them from accessing Opera North’s work. Our definition of ‘group’ is very open – you might be a big charity with national funding, or you might be a few neighbours who club together to help out on your street.
You don’t need to be based in Leeds to be an Encore member, and nor do your guests, but it is handy if you’re able to get here fairly easily.
How does it work?
You will receive emails from engagement@operanorthmail.co.uk periodically with upcoming news. Check our ‘which performances can I attend’ page for our current offers.
As the Encore representative for your organisation, you will coordinate with your members or attendees to find out who’s interested in coming to what. You can then log in to your Opera North account via the website, and book the number of tickets required, using the codes provided. Alternatively, you can call the Box Office to book if preferred. If you are a Bravo member, you will book your tickets directly by logging into your Opera North Account.

How do I get my tickets?
When booking you can select to collect your tickets from the Box Office, have them sent to you via post or sent via email. Our friendly Box Office staff will be happy to support you with any aspect of the booking process.
How many tickets can my group have per event?
Each group will be able to book up to 5 tickets per event. Please contact the Box Office directly to request booking for a larger group. When you log in to book you will be able to select your seats and therefore see the number of seats available. We would just request that you are mindful of the fact that the seats are for all Encore members and as such we would like as many groups as possible to be able to access them.
How many events can my guests attend per year?
There’s no maximum or minimum for any group. Some of our partners come along for every gig, and some want to attend the most well-known operas every couple of years.
How much does it cost?
Encore is totally free to join and be a part of. If you would like to make a donation you will be prompted to do this when booking online. If you would like to make a cash donation you can leave this in a labelled envelope with one of our friendly Box Office team members.
This sounds great! How do I join up?
You can email our team on encore@operanorth.co.uk if you would like to sign up, and we will send you a signing up form. This is so that we can understand a bit more about your organisation. If you meet the criteria for joining, we will add you to our database and you will begin to receive emails and updates from us.
What if I have more questions?
Send us an email on encore@operanorth.co.uk, or call the friendly Box Office team on 0113 223 3600.
