New Regency Orchestra

This event has passed.

With twelve mighty horns, a lock-tight five-piece rhythm section and joyous dancers, New Regency Orchestra bring the energy of London’s new jazz scene to the golden age of mambo and Latin jazz.

They take their inspiration from the New York melting pot of the 50s and 70s, when the music of jazz luminaries Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker collided with the Cuban roots of Chano Pozo and Machito.

Now New Regency Orchestra bring that sound across the Atlantic and into the 21st Century, with London’s best Latin and jazz talent driving each other to greater heights.

“A hepcat big band with a vibe straight out of the Nuyorican barrios…a killer rhythm section, mighty wall of horns and moments of sparkling call-and-response between instruments and dancers – given a 21st century London twist with new influences, arrangements and attitude.”
