Leeds Lieder was founded in 2004 by Jane Anthony in partnership with a group of individuals and Leeds College of Music, to promote the enjoyment, understanding, appreciation, composition and performance of art-song.

In recent seasons, Leeds Lieder “has fully realised its potential and become an event of international stature” (Opera Now), championing song across the north of England through thriving education projects, commissioning and presenting the finest song recitalists in person and on-line.

For its 20th Anniversary Festival, Leeds Lieder returns to the Howard Assembly Room.
