A Bantutronic Experience presented by THABO

Thursday 24 & Friday 25 October 2024

This event has passed.

This immersive installation by THABO weaves together music, storytelling and visuals, creating multi sensory, Bantutronic dreamworlds.

As part of Light Night Leeds 2024, Dreaming Being: A Bantutronic Experience explores the profound relationship between dreams and beings through an ancient and futuristic lens. The show presents a Bantutronic mythology where the highest purpose for any being is to pursue a dream, and for dreams, it is to find their resonant being.

This journey requires both dreams and beings to undergo tremendous trials, fostering faith, trust, and endurance. When a dream and a being first combine, the union is both volatile and beautiful, a blend of terror and excitement. The dream will both scare and thrill the being, revealing the vastness of what could be, stirring enthusiasm and courage for the journey they must undertake together.

Dreaming holds significant cultural importance in Bantu traditions, with practices, rituals, and the language of dreams being deeply revered. This experience offers a glimpse into what it means to dream in the Bantutronic, instilling a deep reverence for dreaming and highlighting its cosmic significance and transformative power.
