Founded in 2004, Leeds Song (formerly Leeds Lieder) is now recognised internationally as one of the premier organisations devoted to art-song.
It aims to introduce Lieder to an ever-wider audience, to inspire young people and others to appreciate song, and to sustain the tradition of song writing through the commissioning of new work. As the only northern organisation devoted to the performance and understanding of art-song, Leeds Song is uniquely positioned to develop its performers and audiences outside the capital.
Leeds Song has built a reputation for musical excellence with its artistic programme, and for featuring new and emerging talent alongside established artists whilst also creating accessible events and projects for audiences and participants new to the genre.
The 2026 edition features internationally acclaimed singers Marianne Crebassa, Katharina Konradi, Axelle Fanyo, and Fleur Barron. It also sees the return of British stars Dame Sarah Connolly, Louise Alder, Huw Montague Rendall and Roderick Williams.
