Step inside Fractures, an immersive music and light installation inspired by Jasdeep Singh Degun’s award-winning Orpheus, which blends the timeless beauty of Monteverdi’s Orfeo with the rich traditions of Indian classical music.
Led by Musical Director Kaviraj Singh on santoor and voice, Fractures explores music from Monteverdi’s Orfeo and Degun’s Orpheus, seamlessly blending tradition with sparks of musical innovation through acoustic and live electronic improvisations. You’ll hear the musicians as soloists, in duets and as an ensemble from all sides of the Howard Assembly Room.
Kaviraj Singh is joined by soprano Amy Freston, Annette Saunders (harpsichord), Liz Hanks (cello) and Camillo Tirado (tabla and live electronics). Together, they create a vivid meeting of musical worlds, complemented by immersive lighting that transforms the HAR into a truly magical space.”
