Superb #ONAida tonight at Leeds Town Hall from @Opera_North
Great individual performances, but the sheer power of orchestra and chorus really makes it special.
Semi-staged, but you effectively forget that… shame about the lack of elephants though!

I don’t usually tweet about a show I’m going to review, but for logistical reasons my review won’t appear for a couple of weeks. So I’d advise you to book @Opera_North’s knockout Aïda ASAP. One of the most enjoyable I’ve heard live, astonishingly well sung, played & conducted 😀

I have thoroughly enjoyed tonight’s opening performance of #ONAida by @Opera_North at Leeds Town Hall! A thoroughly superb concert staging of this fabulous opera! The power of the music and the vision provided by the acting made it feel like a fully staged Opera. Well done!🎼🎭🎶

It’s tremendous in many ways, and at times really disturbing: probably the best Aida I’ve heard and seen in decades!

First time at the Opera yesterday watching Aida #ONAida at Leeds Town City Hall @Opera_North Loved it! Who would have thought that the Opera would have been so dramatic? Now I know where soap opera came from #drama
