In this episode, John Savournin gives us a glimpse of what the rehearsal process for Ariadne auf Naxos has been like and reflects on his career so far, combining singing, directing and writing.

Bass-baritone John Savournin is currently appearing in the Major-Domo/Truffaldino role in Ariadne auf Naxos. His many previous roles at Opera North include Angelotti in Tosca, Sarastro in The Magic Flute and Leporello in Don Giovanni. His is Artistic Director at Charles Court Opera, and he has also directed Trial by Jury for Opera North, as well as writing and directing a series of productions introducing opera to newer audiences and families, including Little Listeners: Mini Vixen, and Whistle Stop Opera: The Marriage of Figaro.
