As You Are
A Leeds soundwalk
This event has been postponed
This event has passed.
We are sorry that due to the latest lockdown restrictions, we have had to postpone our As You Are soundwalks. We will continue to review government guidance and when we know more about the lifting of restrictions, we will work to reschedule these events.
Existing ticket bookers will be contacted with more information about the project in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience and support while we adjust our plans.
It’s time to reflect and explore Leeds, our home city, in a very different way…
Composer and musician Abel Selaocoe has taken inspiration from his South African heritage, performing alongside the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North as well as guest artists to create beautiful music that embraces the healing power of walking. At times uplifting with the full chorus and orchestra, at others reflective with just a single voice, As You Are expresses acceptance that there will be difficult times, but that we will come through to the other side.
Pick up a pair of headphones and meander on a musical adventure through the city as your sound pack triggers new musical chapters to accompany you on a transformative journey, taking in Leeds’ most recognisable landmarks.
Please see our COVID safety measures for further information. The route is accessible to wheelchair users. Due to ongoing roadworks in the city this may change and we will inform customers if this occurs.
