Blossoming

This event has passed.

Inspired by the depictions of mythological, ancient stories and Indic folklore, Blossoming is a seamless blend of Indian classical instrumentation, Western orchestration, and neoclassical textures created by Yorkshire santoor maestro Eeshar Singh.

The performance is accompanied by live visuals to take the audience on a journey through music and storytelling. Joining Eeshar Singh are Jeevan Singh (percussion, tabla, nagara) and Sirrjan Singh (esraj, tar-shehnai and live visuals).

Eeshar Singh is an Indian Classical musician, composer and performer. He is one of a few players of the Santoor, a rare instrument that produces a beautifully raw, resonant sound and one that he likens to his own spiritual practice and connection to the earth.

Eeshar’s approach to his music practice is largely centred around his love for telling stories and crafting narratives. His unique approach to composition combines traditional Indian classical techniques with the contemporary genre. It breaks down cultural boundaries.

A co-production with South Asian Arts-uk.
