This event has passed.
“With the Brandenburg concertos, it will be like your regular walk in the park – the path is mapped out for you and you know the way – but the light is always different” – Trevor Pinnock
Composed in 1721, Bach’s six works dedicated to the Margrave of Brandenburg are recognised as the peak of the Baroque concerto.
The intimacy of the Howard Assembly Room’s Distilled series is a perfect setting for the timeless verve and innovation of the Third, with its revolutionary instrumentation of three violins, three violas, three cellos and harpsichord, performed by the virtuoso musicians of the Orchestra of Opera North.
