Creative Camp

2 – 6 August 2021

Book Now

Spend a week discovering the different elements that make up the magic of opera and theatre.

In the beautiful setting of Herd Farm in Eccup, North Leeds, participants will explore the creative processes of the theatre, taking inspiration from Mozart’s famous opera, The Magic Flute. Over five days, participants will try their hand at being a composer, a director, a designer, a script writer and a performer themselves, culminating in an exciting and colourful sharing for family on the final day.

Devised and delivered by professional artists from the world of opera and led by tutors from Opera North’s award-winning In Harmony programme, workshops will be full of music, magic and fun. Participants and their families will get to experience a very special socially-distanced performance of Whistle Stop Opera: The Magic Flute  performed by singers and musicians from Opera North.

All activities will be designed specifically for Covid-safe learning according to the latest government advice, and will make full use of Herd Farm’s beautiful 16-acre property.

We welcome all young people aged 8-11 who love being creative and have an interest in music, drama or art. No experience or musical ability is necessary.
