Ian Buckle and Andy Long, two Kirklees regulars, open the season in Dewsbury with a programme of violin & piano music.
Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata, so called because the violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer refused to play it, cemented Beethoven’s mastery of the instrumental sonata.
Glazunov, Vecsey and Glière are composers from the early-20th century, each of whom wrote music that has become a staple of the solo violin repertoire.
