The celebrated cellist Li-Wei Qin will be visiting the Howard Assembly Room in January 2026 to perform with long time duo partner Jeremy Young, as part of his 50 birthday celebrations.
Gold Medal winner of the Royal Overseas League in London, winner of the Naumberg Competition in New York and silver medal of the Tchaikowsky Competiton in Russia, Li-Wei Qin is regarded as one of the most famous cellists in China and Australia and has a dedicated following in the UK.
Qin will be accompanied by Jeremy Young on piano, for a programme that features music from Britain and China, and will include Beethoven’s Sonata Op 102 in D major which the duo performed for their Lincoln Centre debut in 2002.
