Join the Orchestra of Opera North and special guests Elin Pritchard (soprano) and David Junghoon Kim (tenor) for an alfresco summer evening of operatic favourites and classical masterpieces in Millennium Square.

Martin André conducts the ensemble in glorious arias from Puccini’s La bohème and Tosca, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Il Trovatore and more, with sweeping orchestral blockbusters from Tchaikovsky, Dvořák and Borodin.

Welsh soprano and Opera North favourite Elin Pritchard channels the joy and heartbreak of opera’s greatest heroines, and award-winning young Korean tenor David Junghoon Kim makes his Opera North debut in popular classics including ‘Nessun Dorma’.

Outgoing Leader of the Orchestra of Opera North David Greed fronts the ensemble for a last goodbye as soloist in Massenet’s moving Méditation from Thaïs, and there’s a special appearance from the brilliant young Ukrainian soprano Inna Husieva.

“From her beautiful opening aria… an astonishing tour de force of both acting and singing”
– Opera Now on Elin Pritchard

“a vocal standout. Supple, husky, beautifully natural in the high notes and seductively full in the low… She’s a compelling actor, too”
– The Guardian on Elin Pritchard

“a real rising star; his singing was sweet-toned and beautifully shaped”
– The Guardian on David Junghoon Kim

“effortless top notes and fount of lyricism”
– The i Paper on David Junghoon Kim
