Opera North Junior Strings (ONJS) is a string orchestra for beginner string players from across Leeds designed to develop outstanding instrumental and musicianship skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

Each week you will be appropriately challenged to develop within your technical ability giving you the chance to make music as an ensemble under the guidance of a member of the Orchestra of Opera North and the Opera North education team.

ONJS members benefit from small group sectionals, workshop and creative composition sessions and exciting performance opportunities.
