Ooh la la! Join us for a musical Valentine’s celebrating master of the romantic French song, Michel Legrand. The evening will begin with a set from Chanson singer Lucy Hope, before a screening of the Academy-Award nominated, exquisitely styled romantic drama, written and directed by Jacques Demy.

Geneviève (Catherine Deneuve), a beautiful young Frenchwoman who works at a boutique selling umbrellas, falls for dashing mechanic Guy (Nino Castelnuovo), but their brief romance is interrupted when Guy is drafted to serve in the Algerian War…

‘The Chanteuse’ is the stage name of Manchester-born Lucy Hope. Her vibrant recreations of 1960s French yéyé songs are brilliantly accomplished. Here she’s joined by her trio to perform a 30-minute set of Legrand’s most beloved songs.
