Leeds Song Festival

Book Now

Professor Natasha Loges leads our Young Artists through a lecture recital exploring the songs of singer-composer Pauline Viardot.

Across a sixty-year international career, Viardot composed c. 200 songs, many still unpublished. Illustrated by performances by the Young Artist duos, this programme traces Viardot’s friendships with figures from the Schumanns to Tchaikovsky, Fauré and Bizet.

The event coincides with the publication of Professor Loges’s new biography, Pauline Viardot, the first study to place her music at the heart of her remarkable life.
