Looking to brush up on your vocals in between workshops? We’ve got you covered…

Here you’ll find all the resources you need help you progress during From Couch to Chorus: Autumn Edition 2025. You will find scores for your weekly sessions and playlists of all the repertoire according to voice type. Links to the weekly catch-up videos of the online workshops will also be posted here.

It’s all you need to go From Couch to Chorus while practising at a time that suits you.

How to use

The first thing you need to do is decide which voice part you want to sing. If you’re unsure, check out our From Couch to Chorus: Which voice type? guide.

For each voice part, there are scores as well as rehearsal tracks for you to use. Find single, double and triple part recordings to test how you hold your own part and your confidence singing in harmony, as well as full chorus recordings of each piece to help you progress.

→ Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass only tracks: Build a good foundation and practice singing your part along with our chorus Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass section.

→ Soprano-Alto/Tenor-Bass only tracks: Improve harmony singing and practice holding your line alongside one other harmony part.

→ Piano only tracks: Improve your independence and sing your part without any help from our singers. Check you are really confident with your part and that you can come in in all the right places!

→ Tutti (full chorus) tracks: For the full effect sing along with members of the Opera North Chorus to feel what it’s like to sing as part of this choir. You’ll need to be strong on your part so as not to get distracted by the other harmonies!

If you have any problems viewing any of these documents or recordings, contact us at lifelonglearning@operanorth.co.uk and we’d be happy to help.

Workshop recordings

Week 1

Week 2

Unfortunately, there was a technical issue with the recording of the alto session this week. If you are an alto, we would encourage you to watch the bass workshop up until we go into breakout rooms. You can then use the learning resources above to rehearse the music. We do apologise for this technical glitch.
