Ahead of our Mini Magic Flute tour, Little Listeners: Mini Magic Flute we need your help to make some colourful birds which will help us to tell the story. Make one at home and bring it along to the performance! Below is some inspiration, but feel free to design your own.

What you'll need

  • A paper plate
  • Glue
  • A beak made of card
  • Googly eyes
  • Coloured crayons, pencils or marker pens
  • Feathers (and other decorations)
  • Strips of coloured card (for the tail)
  • Ribbon

Creating your bird

Step 1

Take your paper plate. Make sure it’s folded in half and has a hole at the top

Attach your beak and googly eyes

Use coloured pencils and pens to decorate your bird

Add feathers to your design and any other decorations

Use the strips of coloured card to create a tail

Thread some ribbon through the hole at the top. Watch your bird fly!
