The string section of the Orchestra of Opera North takes centre stage for this Distilled Sunday afternoon concert, directed by Leader Katie Stillman.
The playful Entr’acte from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw opens the programme. Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence for string sextet was completed following a stay in its namesake city, and has become a mainstay of the string chamber repertoire.
