For 25 years, they have shared not only the stage but a profound commitment to honouring tradition while embracing innovation. The Silver Anniversary Tour marks a significant milestone in the couple’s journey, celebrating over two decades of life and music together. Their performances are intimate conversations between sitar and Indian cello, guided by the rhythmic foundation of master tabla accompaniment, creating an atmosphere of profound musical meditation.
Led by Pandit Shubhendra Rao, one of the foremost disciples of Pandit Ravi Shankar, and pioneering cellist Maestro Saskia Rao-de Haas, whose groundbreaking work has reimagined the cello within the Hindustani classical tradition, the duo is accompanied by tabla virtuoso Ustad Shahbaz Hussain in their only Leeds performance at Howard Assembly Room.
