Textiles Artist (Maternity cover)

Opera North is looking for an experienced and well-motivated individual to fill the role of Textiles Artist – Maternity Cover – Fixed Term.

The successful candidate will have experience of dyeing, painting, printing and treatment of textiles for performance. Also experience of distressing and ageing of costumes. Experience of working with millinery, jewellery and leatherwork is also desirable.

First Violin No. 4

The Orchestra of Opera North holds a unique place amongst British orchestras. Universally praised by audiences and critics alike, the Orchestra is the only ensemble in the country to have a year-round dual role in the opera house and concert hall.

The Orchestra of Opera North is looking for an experienced, positive and well-motivated musician to fill the role of First Violin Number 4, to inspire your section musically and in conjunction with the Leader, Co-Leader and Associate Leader, take responsibility for the overall artistic and musical quality of your section. In leading by example, you will act as an ambassador for the orchestra, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere, enabling everyone to perform to their best.

This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who enjoys building relationships, meeting people and turning conversations into contracts. You’ll have the freedom to shape packages, build networks and grow income from a wide range of clients, from creative businesses and corporate partners to wedding planners and event organisers.
