Opera North Youth Orchestral Programme

The Opera North Youth Orchestral Programme provides a variety of instrumental and ensemble training for young people aged 10 – 21.

Activities take place throughout the year providing a range of orchestral courses. In addition, the Opera North Youth Orchestra meets for two projects each year in the autumn and spring term. All of these activities are delivered by our specialist team of instrumental teaching artists, as well as providing a fantastic chance to rehearse and perform alongside members of the Orchestra of Opera North and a roster of professional conductors.

Our base at the Howard Opera Centre, Leeds, puts young people right at the heart of a busy opera company, giving Members unparalleled opportunities to attend orchestral rehearsals and opera performances, as well as gain an understanding and insight into the workings of Opera North.

We’re looking for young people who can show commitment and who are interested in exploring new and exciting ways to develop their instrumental performance skills.
