Double your donation and transform lives through music…

Opera North is taking part in the Big Give Arts for Impact Challenge. We’re aiming to raise £20,000 for our In Harmony programme, which transforms the lives of young people in our partner schools across West Yorkshire by providing high-quality musical learning in the classroom every week.

If you believe that every child deserves the chance to experience the uplifting power of music, then please consider supporting our In Harmony programme with a donation today. All donations made via the Big Give platform between 19 – 26 March will be matched pound for pound by Arts for Impact, meaning your donation will make double the difference.

Will you donate today and help us enrich young lives through music for years to come?

Why support In Harmony?

In Harmony Opera North enriches the lives of over 2,500 children across seven schools in Leeds and Halifax each week. Through access to weekly musical learning in the classroom, every single child in our partner schools is given the chance to learn to sing and play an instrument. Students are also given the opportunity to take part in afterschool activities, including our In Harmony Choir, and attend regular workshop days at Opera North throughout the year.

We see the positive impact that music making has on the young people we work with every day. In Harmony gives the children in our partner schools far more than just practical skills and knowledge; it promotes creativity, increases determination, boosts confidence, and brings the whole school community together through music.

By donating today, you can ignite a life-long love of music in the next generation, and spark a lifetime of opportunities for young people across our region.

A donation of any size could make a real difference…

  • £15 could provide sponge shoulder rests for a class of young violinists
  • £50 could keep our cellos at perfect pitch by providing a set of new strings
  • £120 could transport a class of children to attend a full day workshops in the Howard Opera Centre
  • £200 could ignite a lifelong passion for music by giving a child their very own trumpet or violin
  • £500 could inspire our In Harmony Choirs through six weeks of afterschool sessions
  • £1,000 could bring the joy to the whole school with a live workshop given by members of the Orchestra of Opera North.
