Cowboy Junkies bring their celebrated country‑folk‑rock sound to an intimate evening.
Formed in Toronto in 1985, Cowboy Junkies consist of vocalist Margo Timmins, guitarist and chief songwriter Michael Timmins, drummer Peter Timmins, and bassist Alan Anton. Since their second studio album the group has often been augmented by multi‑instrumentalist Jeff Bird, who contributes mandolin, harmonica, percussion and other textures.
Their breakthrough album The Trinity Session (1988) introduced a quietly powerful, atmospheric style that remains their most acclaimed record. The band’s most widely recognised song is their 1990 cover of Sweet Jane, which brought them international chart success and introduced a new generation to their understated sound.
Across 29 albums, Cowboy Junkies are known for melodic subtlety, evocative lyricism, and Margo Timmins’ feather‑light alto voice, securing their reputation as established figures in country-folk-rock.
