Late Evening Recital

Thursday 28 April 2022

This event has passed.

Three extraordinary artists, all known for pushing boundaries, join for an electric programme they have called The Revolution Smells of Jasmine.

It’s the soundtrack of revolution and an homage to protest music in the Americas, from female artists and composers, exploring many different themes of social change, abuse, oppression, and of course, revolution. The quote from Juana Azurduy, “Lend me your rifle, because the revolution smells of Jasmine”, evokes the narrative of revolution and social change as a virtuous, feminine war for the salvation of society and culture. The programme centres around pieces by Ariel Ramirez, covering revolutionary leaders of South American countries.

This event will also be streamed live. Watch live on YouTube
