In Harmony Home Education
Register an interestIn Harmony Opera North engages the home education community in an inclusive programme of high-quality music education and performance opportunities, from our base at the Howard Opera Centre.
In Harmony Home Education is an exciting new strand of the existing In Harmony programme, beginning September 2025. Designed with the home education community in mind, it offers a first access, inclusive programme of high-quality music making activities and supports participants to benefit from a range of personal, social and musical outcomes. The programme promotes musical excellence by following a group teaching model that is curriculum inspired and Kodaly based. It also provides development pathways for committed and enthusiastic young people to realise their musical potential.
We offer tuition on the following instruments
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
Full Programme (those aged 6+ or at this working level age)
A typical morning on the full programme will include:
Small group lesson: Focusing on specific instrumental skill development on a string instrument (violin, viola or cello).
Musicianship: Aural training and music theory approached through song, games and rhymes.
Ensemble: Learn and perform music as a string orchestra.
Musicianship Prep (those under 6 or at this working level age)
