Joan Rodgers’s many accolades include receiving the Royal Philharmonic Society Award, Evening Standard Award for outstanding performance in opera for her performance as The Governess in the Royal Opera’s production of The Turn of the Screw and an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Liverpool University.

She was awarded the CBE in the 2001 New Year’s Honours List. Her winning personality and innate musicality make her one of the most in demand masterclass leaders. Today she will end her class with a presentation to the Young Artist duo who have shown most promise over the course of the Festival. They will win the Leeds Lieder/Schubert Institute UK Song Prize.
