A summer call out from Leeds International Concert Season and South Asian Arts-uk found four outstanding specialist musicians, whose practices are steeped in sacred music.
Over a series of collaborative wintertime workshops, those musicians, Daniel Gethin, Eeshar Singh, Samil Sabri and Deepa Shakti will delve into each other’s work, exploring the common threads and unique characteristics of their own sacred music traditions.
Sacred Music: Celebrate the Spirit will be the result of that journey; a collective expression of what it means to create interfaith music, and a celebration of each religious tradition and their communities here in Leeds.
