FAQs

What should I expect on the day?

In the session you will enjoy some fun vocal warm ups before exploring a range of repertoire for singing groups. Each Sing ONward session will be themed around a different style or genre. In the final 30 minutes of the session we will provide refreshments and a chance to socialise with other participants. All of our sessions are led by friendly professionals from our Opera North Education team.

Do I need to read music?

You do not need to read music for these sessions, though the leader may offer sheet music. These sessions are aimed at ‘intermediate level’ singers, so some musical experience would be beneficial – why not try a Sing ON session first? If you want to come along but aren’t sure if it’s right for you, then just get in touch at lifelonglearning@operanorth.co.uk.

Where is the session?

The session will take place in the Harewood Studio, located in the Howard Opera Centre, Opera North’s home in the centre of Leeds. The full address is: Howard Opera Centre, 8 Harrison Street, LS1 6PA.

The Howard Opera Centre is around a 10 minute walk from Leeds bus station and a 15 minute walk from Leeds train station. Buses to the centre also stop nearby on The Headrow, Vicar Lane and Boar Lane, all of which are within a 5-10 minute walk of the venue.

For the most up to date information on local bus and train times, please check WYMetro.

Please contact our Box Office or lifelearning@operanorth.co.uk if you have any queries on how to get here.
